*Asian Styled Wok*

Wish that you could take a vacation to the hot and exotic South East Asian islands? Don´t worry, not all of us can afford such a trip. I soothed my mind by delighting myself today with a simple yet delicious Asian styled wok, made in under 30 min. Enjoy!

Asian Styled Wok

(3-4 portions)

* some mini tomatoes

* a handful of mini corns or a small can of mini corns

* 1 yellow sweet pepper

* 1/2 red pepper

* 1 small carrot

* appr. 100 g of whole sweet peas

* 2 cm piece of ginger

* 3 cloves of garlic

* 2 spring onions

the sauce:
* 1 tablespoon of fish sauce

* 1 1/2 tablespoons of oister sauce

* 2 tablespoons of water

* 1/2 tablespoon of sugar

also:
* 1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (I used coconut oil) for frying

* salt, pepper or other spices of your choice

1   Wash the mini corns carefully if they come from a can. If not, and in case they seem to be somewhat hard, boil them for couple of minutes.
2   Wash the peppers and slice them into thin slices. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into half.
3   Peel the carrot and slice it into coin shaped pieces.
4   Wash the sweet peas.
5   Peel the ginger and cut it into small pieces. Peel the cloves of garlic and smash them against the side of the knife to crunch them.
6   Gently wash the spring onions and cut them into rough little pieces.
7   Time to make the sauce! Put all the sauce ingredients into a cup and mix them together. If you haven´t made Asian styled food ever and the smell of the sauce frightens you, don´t worry, the "bad" smell will disappear when the sauce is put to the pan.
8   Put a wok pan or other big pan to the stove and add the vegetable oil. Let the heat rise and throw the garlic in. Fry it until it turns goldish brown.
9   Add the rest of the veggies into the pan and let them fry, mixing them up. After couple of minutes add the sauce and mix well. Let the mixture fry.
10   For more intense flavour, you can put a hood on the pan. Drop the temperature from frying to slow cooking. This also makes the veggies cook better in case you are worrying if they turn out to be somewhat too raw.
11   After 5-8 min taste the food. If it needs some spices and salt, feel free to add. I added a pinch of salt, coriander and cayanne pepper to give the food a bit of a kick. Let the food cook slowly for 5-10 minutes depending how soft you want the veggies to be.
